This is a great Italian car event that Ray Boniface has at his beautiful Victorian home with his Italian steeds displayed on the lawn, combined with a great catered cookout. Trust me, this is worth attending and driving your own personal Italian car (non Italian cars also welcome). All proceeds will go to breast cancer care and research. Each October the club visits Grattan near Grand Rapids for brisk driving, some of it backwards. No, the gears are not shifted into reverse, but the track is driven the second day in the opposite direction, providing a whole new course and challenges. The DUCE weekend is October 10-11.

Mark your calendar for Sunday, October 18, for a variety of autumn roads and colors in the Bloomfields and Birmingham. We will drive under a canopy of trees past lakes and estates, to Cranbrook and Quarton Lake, Walnut Lake, Lower Long Lake, Island Lake, Turtle Lake, Forest Lake, and over hills, over dales (but not down dusty trails). Dave & Andy Hammond will be the tour guides and hand out maps with gossipy route instructions, starting from the Marriott hotel on Opdyke and finishing with the option of dinner at an Italian restaurant. Details wil be in the next issue of the Giornale. |

Yes, there will be one in December. Kathleen Schweiger is busy scouting restaurants and named likely candidates
at the August board meeting. |
